Saugues to Le Sauvage 20kms (64.9kms) Up 647m

A shorter day, and just in time.
Ross was feeling weary. The up hill was gradual but persistent. We walked all day through pine forests and farmland.
The roadsides and some fields were covered in wild 🌺. (See next blog post).
Saugues is infamous as the home of a beast that terrorised the village in the 18th century. It was finally hunted and killed but not before over a hundred deaths, over 6 years. It resembled a monstously large wolf.
sorry, that our dog Harry and his cousin Lucy.
This was the beast (on the) right.
